My husband and I were recently in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, a sweet little hippie and surf mecca, and stumbled upon a really great eco-boutique hotel called Tamarindo Bay. It was so cool, chic, modern, and beautiful. From the moment we checked in we knew we were in the right place. With only a handful of rooms the property is quiet, private, and within walking distance to everything. We also took advantage of their free bike cruisers to tour the town, beaches, and hit beach-front bars for sunset cocktails. Joe even loaned us their surf boards. Now, that’s love.
Our room was spacious and clean with a gorgeous outdoor shower, and they built a picturesque yoga deck on a second level which gets a fabulous breeze. On top of everything the owners, Joe and Bacheeba did an incredible job incorporating creative, green building components so you can feel good about where you stay and spend your money. Rates include breakfast and Bacheeba is a talented, gourmet chef. Good bye continental breakfast and hello home-made muffins with exotic fruit, and a plate full of quiche or other delicious breakfast meal. After this meal we weren’t hungry until dinner! Oh and you can’t forget the mouth-watering morning smoothie made with local fruit – YUM! We will definitely be making a trip back to Tamarindo Bay, just note that it will be for a romantic get-away because there are no little ones allowed.
