Using essential oils while giving savasana adjustments can be a lovely touch. But, once after applying it to my hands and massaging my students into a relaxing final rest, one of them started sneezing uncontrollably. So much for that relaxation, for her or anyone else.
If you use essential oils during savasana, you might consider announcing it to the class as they prepare to take rest. Apply it to your forearms instead of your hands. Once they’re reclining, ask anyone who prefers not to be touched to raise a hand. That way, you can either adjust them prior to applying oil, or just leave them be and save them the allergy attack.
